BLOG INFORMATION

To access the BLOG ARCHIVE, please navigate to the right-hand side of your screen and scroll down to find it. When using the archive, be mindful of the references/resources organized by year. For the year 2020 onwards, you'll find references that are exclusively related to the new syllabus of 0400. These resources are invaluable for staying up-to-date with the latest curriculum and materials. For the years 2019 and those prior, you can still make use of the content for its work quality, innovative ideas, and sources of inspiration. These older references can be especially helpful for crafting ideas and guidelines to support your Component 2 ESA (new syllabus) endeavors.

Hi there,
I am new to IGCSE Art & Design so will really appreciate your clarification:
1. Must ESA final work be done A2/ is there any size recommendation?
2. Coursework final piece need not be done in exam setting correct?
3. ESA topics seems to not indicate any sort of design related questions but only a set of themes. How should the themes be approached?
eg 2020 ESA themes were:
1 Changing times
2 On the edge
3 Pipes and plumbing
4 Shelter
5 A disregarded object

So the student should develop one of them like coursework? Or should he approach one of the themes like a design. Like if he chose 4- Shelter, can he design a shelter for a park?

Thank you!

Hello there,

Many of questions above you can refer to my sharing this link,

http://artandfeeda.blogspot.com/2020/10/art-design-igcse-0400-random-questions.html

For the ESA question, yes, student needs to choose 1 theme as a starting point and they can choose to do Design if they want to

Best regards,

Ms Feeda
