These are the art progress of Radhika's work. She would want to explore portrait with watercolour and soft-pastel. She's Year 10 student. The session was on a one-to-one basis.

She improved a lot in applying colours according to the lighting direction.

Work in progress : Year 8 (Grade8)

Hello art educators, students and art lovers,

In this Term III task, the Year 8 students are suppose to do Self-Portrait studies with Frida Kahlo's art elements.

First, I prepared few props, variety of props, considering the colour and texture, then the students are supposed to pose 3 different type of expression.

They are also will experience different type of art experiment and exploration with the media in Preparation 1 and 2. Then they'll choose 1 expression, enlarge it in an A2 art paper, adding the background inspired by Frida Kahlo' painting.

I'll share with all of you their Prep 1 & 2 + Final Piece soon.

These are the work-in-progress at Prep 2, when they do collage art style, cutting the picture and draw the background based on the observation of all Frida Kahlo's painting(s).

Year 9 Design coursework. An introduction to Component 02 Art & Design IGCSE to KS3 students.

Hello art students/educators,

These are the art samples from my Year 9 students. The task was, to design the letter of 'Kindergarten' based on children toys collection.

It's a simple task but it needs a lot of planning in getting the element from the children toys into lettering design. Planning, decision making, idea development and final arrangement will expose them to how we do Design coursework as basic exposure towards Art & Design IGCSE.

Instead of 4 prep work (as IGCSE requirement), for Year 9 students, I only request 2 studies and 1 final piece.
