For the year 2020 onwards, you'll find references that are exclusively related to the new syllabus of 0400. These resources are invaluable for staying up-to-date with the latest curriculum and materials. For the years 2019 and those prior, you can still make use of the content for its work quality, innovative ideas, and sources of inspiration. Grade C - Component 1 & 2 Design type of work (Anime approach) Art & Design Igcse 0400 June 2023 (Perry)

 Dear all,

I'm pleased to share the work of one of my students from the June 2023 exams. The student achieved an overall grade of C for his efforts. This project involved creating artwork in the Anime style, marking my first time guiding a student through Component 1 and Component 2 using this style. It's worth noting that pursuing Anime-style art for IGCSE 0400 presented certain challenges, as there were limited examples of A or A* graded work in this genre available in the samples.

The student was well aware of the risks involved in choosing this unique design path. Despite the potential challenges, he was cool with receiving a C, though his work deserved at least a B (to me, a low B will do). Well, we all know about the crazy threshold for June Exam 2023!

Throughout the journey, I provided guidance and support. I tried my best to support him, knowing he liked the anime approach.

For Component 1, the student chose to design a front cover for an Anime novel, while for Component 2, he created an Anime movie poster for the question with the title 'Lost.' The student used various photos to gather reference material, with their classmates serving as subject matter for the artwork. Given the limited availability of Anime samples for reference, I, as the teacher, conducted extensive research to assist in guiding the student effectively.

By sharing Perry's work, I hope art teachers and students find valuable references and inspiration, especially those passionate about the Anime style. Perry graciously permitted me to feature their work on my blog.

Perry is pursuing Animation, and I hope he'll enjoy the next journey in design! Proud of you, Perry!
