Art & Design IGCSE 0400 - in brief
Hello visitors,
As I mentioned in my previous post, I rarely post my current students' IGCSE work due to P&C matter. However, I will share the work once the results is out.
Many of my blog visitors (students, parents and teachers) email me regarding how to understand the new syllabus of AD IGCSE 0400.
Below is the brief how to look into the new requirement.
2020-2022
2 types only
First
*Paper 1 (Coursework)*
8 prep + 1 final piece
( the final piece no need 8 hours exam)
Topic by the teacher
Topic can be anything! Fine Art to Design to Printmaking to Sculpture
( *advisable start earlier, at least 6 months time planning for this paper* )
Second
*Paper 2* Question paper by CIE
1st Jan on the website for those taking June Series
1st July for those taking Oct/Nov Series
4 prep + 1 final piece
(Final piece is 8 hours exam)
*question types are mixtures of still life, interpretative question, choose ONE*
By you end the Final exam for Paper 2, packed all the work, including Coursework (prep + final piece) and courier them to UK.
Best date is around 18-20 April for June Series
and 18-20 Oct for Oct/Nov Series

B Grade by CIE and I am absolutely disagree with the results! I forecast this student A*
Dear all,
This is the first time I am not happy with my student's Art & Design IGCSE November (2018) results.
I forecast her A* and CIE graded her B. Just B.
We appealed and the same B given to us. I thought, at least, after re-examine she can get an A, but nope. Just B!
I am not happy at all!!!!

To Nadia, I am proud of you and all the efforts and hardwork you put into these prep and Final Pieces.
You are talented, humble and always gives your best through out your IGCSE process.
Don't let other people say otherwise!
You are indeed, talented and amazing student!

Year 10 - Observational Studies

I am now communicating (via email) with some of students from Lagos, teachers from everywhere especially when they are new to Art & IGCSE syllabus and exam. Please be patient with me, I'll try my best to reply each of your email ya.

Currently I am busy with a lot of things at school. 😇
However, today I am going to share Eriza's work. She is Year10 student and we did Observational Studies by exploring things around us, nature or man-made.
My aims for the task - just to enhance the students basic foundation in drawing/painting skills, as well as giving them an exposure and guidance for mixed media exploration. Also, the students are going to take Art & Design IGCSE for June 2020 exam, so this task is important for them to get as much as exposure in doing prep work.
Our term 1 was quite short, so I only planned 2 preparation sheets for my students to do, plus 1 final piece.

Congratulations to Caitlin!
Grade A for the Nov Series 2018!
She was the only student decided to do Nov Series in our school! Special request for her own academic strategies. :)
Our school are doing June Series and knowing that she scores an A, I am truly blessed! Proud of her!
These are her work of Component 1 & 2. Her Component 1 marks is higher than Component 2.
